How does First Rate Premium listing work?First Rate Premium listing is our professional service which means that websites are listed before all other non-premium websites. A First Rate Premium listing is active one year from the date your website was accepted. If you want your listing to remain for another year, just send us a note using our contact form. We will also make sure to remind you a couple of weeks before your subscription ends. With First Rate Premium listing your website will always have a top spot in our directory and greatly enhance your possibilities to attract more visitors to your website. If you choose First Rate Premium your website will of course also be shown before all Standard and Free listings in search results. With First Rate Premium your website is also added to our RSS-feed.
To list your website as a First Rate Premium website you go to our submission page and in the form you simply choose First Rate Premium as listing type. Make sure that you have read our rules and conditions before you submit your website. You can choose to pay online or wait for us to send you a digital invoice. Once we have received your order we will perform an initial review of your website. If it seems to comply with our rules we will send you a digital invoice via Paypal (if you haven´t paid online already). The sooner you pay this invoice the sooner your website will show up in our directory. When we have received your payment your website will be reviewed once more. If your website still complies with First Rate rules it will normally be accepted within 24 hours. How does First Rate Standard listing work?First Rate Standard listing is our standard service which means that websites are listed after Premium listing but before Free listings. Our standard listing requires that you put a link back to First Rate Links from your website. You can either use the textlink you get in the acceptance e-mail or use any of our First Rate banners. For every click on the First Rate reciprocal link on your website your Link Power will increase. With First Rate Standard your website is also added to our RSS-feed. To list your website as a First Rate Standard website you go to our submission page and in the form you choose Standard as listing type. Your website is accepted within one week after we have received your submission and confirmed your link back to First Rate Links. How does First Rate Free listing work?First Rate Free listing means that websites are listed after First Rate Standard websites. Our free listing doesn´t require that you put a link back to First Rate Links from your website, but we would really appreciate if you could support our by doing so and by doing so you can increase your Link Power. You can either use the textlink you get in the acceptance e-mail or use any of our First Rate banners. With First Rate Free your website is also added to our RSS-feed. To list your website as a First Rate Free website you go to our submission page and in the form you choose Free as listing type. Your website is accepted within four weeks after we have received your submission. How does your RSS-feed work? Our RSS-feed automaticly lists the twenty latest links in our web directory. So when your website has been accepted it doesn´t only show up in our directory and in the right-hand yellow box with the 20 latest links. Your website will also be featured in our RSS-feed with potentially millions of subscribers and readers. Our RSS-feed has been added to all the biggest RSS directories on the Internet. Since most RSS-software only shows a very short part of the description, it´s even more important that you write a catching and selling website description. Don´t forget though that you still have to stick to our rules. What is Link Power?Link Power measures how many clicks your reciprocal link generates. For every click on the link back to First Rate Links on your website your Link Power will increase. What should I add in the submission form?Below is an example of how the submission could look like before you sumbit it.
Category: Select the category which is best for your website. NOTE: You can only choose one category, so choose wisely. Category is of course mandatory. Site Title: Give your website a descriptive title. All Caps, exclamation marks etc are not allowed. Site Title is also mandatory. Site URL: The address to your website. Don´t submit subdirectories. Site URL is mandatory. E-Mail: That is your e-mail address. We need this to be able to send you a confirmation of your submission. If your e-mail isn´t working we will not accept your submission. E-Mail is mandatory. Listing Type: You have two options; either Premium or Free. You can read more about the differences further up on this page. Listing Type is mandatory. Backlink URL: Here you should write on which page you have put your link back to First Rate Links. Backlink URL is not mandatory, but we would appreciate your support. Description: Describe the contents of your website. What do you offer? What can people expect to find on your website. All Caps, exclamation marks etc are not allowed. Description is mandatory. Rules: Check this box after you have read our rules and conditions. I can´t find a suitable categoryIf you can´t find a suitable category for your website you can request that we add a new. You can use our contact form for this. You will receive an e-mail from us with information regarding your request. When will my website show up in the directory?Depending on what kind of listing type you have chosen (First Rate Premium, Standard or Free) it may take anything from 24 hours to a couple of weeks. How is First Rate Links directory sorted? Our directory is sorted by first of all showing First Rate Premium websites and after that websites are sorted by Link Power, i.e. if your website send lots of visitors to First Rate Links, your website will climb in our directory. And the last sorting parameter is outgoing visitors, i.e. how many clicks a certain link has generated. So it might pay off to put a reciprocal link to First Rate Links from your website - send visitors to us using the code you received in your confirmation e-mail and your listing will climb for every click on that link from your website. Why do I receive two similar e-mails from you?Well, they are not really similar although you might think so if you don´t read it carefully. First you receive an e-mail which confirms that we have received your submission. After that we handle your submission, make sure your website complies with our rules, check payment for First Rate Premium listing etc. Once all this is done you will receive another e-mail from us either accepting or rejecting your website submission. Sometimes we also see that some people submit their website twice (probably by double-clicking the Send-button). The result of this is two identical submissions. If your website complies with our rules one of them will be accepted and the other will be rejected resulting in two different e-mails from us. If your website doesn´t comply we will reject both submissions resulting in two identical e-mails sent to you. Why did you reject my website?Your website was most probably rejected because it doesn´t comply with First Rate rules. Please note that we reserve the right to reject or delete ANY website in our directory. Why did my website suddenly disappear? We constantly review all submissions and those that doesn´t follow First Rate rules are removed. This also applies to First Rate Premium listings although you will receive a warning before your website is deleted. We sometimes see that people submit one website and then redirect their submitted URL to another website. This kind of conduct is NOT accepted and will result in immediate removal. Also First Rate Links will not refund your submission fee. How do I change my website information?Don´t submit your website again as this might result in your website being deleted from our directory. In stead use our contact form to submit your updated website information. | |
